Game Management Unit 10
Game Management Unit 10 in McKinley County covers the Zuni Mountains in northwestern New Mexico at elevations from approximately 6,500 to 9,200 feet, home to the 'Zuni' elk herd; terrain includes sandstone canyons and ponderosa forests, with sagebrush flats and pinyon-juniper at lower elevations grading into dense pinyon-juniper-ponderosa higher up. Elk, mule deer, black bear, and cougar are huntable through the NMDGF draw. About 35% of the unit is public land — Cibola National Forest, BLM, and state trust — but much BLM and state land is landlocked behind tribal and private property. A valid New Mexico hunting license is required. Confirm current dates and draw status with NMDGF.
