Version 2.0 marks the milestone we built toward all month: Todo Nuevo México is no longer just the site AI assistants cite — it's one they can act through, with a human checking every contribution before it goes live.
Ask your AI assistant to submit your event
Assistants connected to our MCP server (Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor and friends) can now submit an event on your behalf. Every submission goes to the same human review queue as the website form — a real person verifies it before anything appears, and you get the outcome by email. Nothing publishes automatically, ever.
A sturdier foundation under everything
Automated checks now guard the rules we care most about — honest event times (never a made-up midnight), dates that match New Mexico's clock, and clean human-readable labels — on every change we ship. Sitemap bookkeeping was tightened so search engines always see exactly what we publish.
Feels faster, reads sharper

Every fix in this wave came from a full top-to-bottom review of the site on real phone, tablet, and desktop screens.
Pages show up faster
Loading screens now appear instantly while a page fetches, city guides and the busiest event pages are served from cache, and event pages ship a lot less code to your phone. The search box no longer runs off the edge of small phone screens.
Easier to use with one thumb
Buttons and form fields are a touch taller sitewide, faint text is darker for readability, long team rosters collapse with a name search, and the business directory's filters tuck away on phones so results come first. Long lists get a back-to-top button.
Sharper details everywhere
Phone numbers display like phone numbers, artist pages name the show and venue, outdoor tags read as words instead of database labels, the weekend page can filter by region, and form errors explain themselves in English and Spanish.

New service pages let you find New Mexico pros by specialty — HVAC, electricians, septic, home & radon inspectors, land surveyors, property managers, real-estate attorneys and more. Search the way you'd actually say it (“A/C”, “swamp cooler”), and a business that does more than one thing shows up under each.
Verified professional-services listings
We added a first wave of Northern New Mexico trade and professional businesses — each independently fact-checked (real name, phone, and location) before it went live, so every listing is a real, citable page.

Events with a free tier alongside paid tickets are no longer labeled simply “Free” — the real price range now shows, so what you see matches what you'll pay at the door.

Behind the scenes we tightened the business dashboard: more than one qualifying broker can manage a listing, edits to your team and profile show up on your public page (and for AI assistants) right away, and every change stays logged.
City guides with color — and businesses shown properly

City guides, redesigned
Guides now read like a magazine: a wider layout, each section with its own New Mexico color accent, and a livelier “In the news” panel so a city’s notable coverage doesn’t get lost on the page.
Weather in one line
The forecast is now a compact one-line chip — tap it for the full outlook. When the National Weather Service issues an alert for the area, the chip turns red with a pulse so it’s impossible to miss.
Hot Topic stories
Timely news stories can carry a pulsing “Hot Topic” badge while they’re the talk of the town — it expires on its own, so nothing stays “hot” longer than it really is.
Business pages, shown properly
A business page now leads with its logo above a map of its locations — no more placeholder letter tiles. Teams appear with real photos and titles, and businesses that serve an area without a storefront (a growing reality) are now first-class listings with their service area stated plainly.
Festival programs
Big multi-day events now carry their verified program: the New Mexico State Fair page lists 21 confirmed happenings — concerts, rodeos, the parade — each linked to its official page, and Los Alamos ScienceFest lists what’s been announced so far.

The homepage countdown to New Mexico’s signature events now sits directly below the city guides, so the big stuff is one scroll away.

Sign in with your Google account in one tap — no password, nothing new to remember. Email magic-link sign-in stays exactly as it was; social login is simply another door to the same account.
Submit an event — no account needed
Anyone can now submit an event without signing in: paste a link and we’ll pre-fill the details, check the address as you type, and your draft saves itself so nothing is lost. Every submission is still reviewed by a human before it goes live.
Claiming your business, smoother
If you sign in mid-claim, we bring you right back and pick up where you left off — no retyping, no dead ends.
Today means all of today
The Today page now lists the whole day statewide — including this morning’s events — and the homepage leads with what’s starting today, with long-running exhibits tucked into their own Ongoing group.

Browse without the endless scroll
Long event lists now open with a jump-to-day bar and show the first eight events per day, with the rest one tap away — a weekend list that used to be a wall of scrolling is now about a third the height on a phone.
A calmer front page
The homepage opens with one clear action and quieter links, so getting to events, the outdoors, or the trip planner takes less hunting on a small screen.
Directory pages that load light
Business directory pages now show 24 listings at a time with simple paging — faster on your phone, and every listing is still reachable (by you and by search engines alike).

Search that forgives typos and accents
Find places even with a missing accent or a small misspelling — type “Abiquiu” and we’ll find Abiquiú, fat-finger “Albuquerqe” and you’ll still get Albuquerque. It works across events, trails, campsites, and the rest of the outdoors, and exact matches still come first.
More events show their exact start time
We verified and filled in real start times for over a hundred upcoming events, so you see the actual clock time instead of just the date — and we never show a fake “12:00 AM” when a time hasn’t been confirmed.
Quietly more reliable
Behind the scenes we added monitoring that flags a data source the moment it breaks or goes silent, so the calendar and guides stay fresh and complete without anyone having to notice something’s missing.

We’ve started a curated directory of local places — restaurants, shops, outfitters, tour operators, galleries, and hotels — launching with 93 listings across Santa Fe, Taos, Albuquerque, Las Cruces, Española, Pojoaque, Red River, and Los Alamos. Each one is a real, citable page with hours, contact, and a map.
Tribal-owned resorts, recognized as such
Pueblo- and tribe-owned lodging — like Sandia Resort & Casino and Buffalo Thunder — is clearly marked as a tribal enterprise, so when you book a stay you can choose to support the community whose land you’re visiting. Cultural-protocol guidance rides along, as it does across the site.
