Sabinoso Wilderness Area
Sabinoso Wilderness Area in northeastern New Mexico is a remote landscape of high, narrow mesas surrounded by cliff-lined canyons, supporting piñon-juniper woodlands and perennial warm-season grass savanna. Deep canyons carved by Cañon Olguin, Cañon Largo, and Lagartija Creek provide dramatic contrast with the surrounding plains. Photography is permitted. Contact the BLM for current access conditions and primitive camping information.
