“A Sense Of Place” is often described as connections and emotions between people and places that develops based on the place meanings, and attachment a person has for a particular setting. We will explore through abstract painting conceptual expression on ideas over traditional aesthetic values, at scales ranging from the home to the nation. This workshop is the perfect opportunity to discover the encaustic monotype process. The method is easy, fast, and highly engaging for artists of all skill levels. Day 1: Foundations & Techniques: Master essential monotype, equipment, tools, and safety protocols. Learn color stick applications and masking techniques. Explore different paper types and their unique properties. Day 2: Expression & Application: Dive into conceptual expression using photos or imagined spaces for inspiration. A "sense of place" painting goes beyond merely recording a physical location. It captures the unique atmosphere, emotions, memories, and lived experiences.
