Abstract Art: Nature as a Starting Point , 2-Day Cold Wax/Oil Workshop

Description: Nature is a great source of inspiration for all kinds of art, and abstract painting is no exception. This workshop explores through abstraction conceptual expression using the landscape as a starting point. We will demonstrate that by simplifying natural elements, manipulating color, form, bold color palettes, large brushstrokes, and layering techniques, we can convey a feeling or emotion rather than a realistic depiction. This 2-Day class includes lectures, presentations, art critiques plus lots of painting time.
