Carrying the Thread: Navajo Weaving Talks with Antonia Clark

Some traditions are passed hand to hand, like the weavings themselves. This Santa Fe Indian Market, Antonia Clark carries forward a tradition begun by her late brother, Jackson Clark, whose deep love of Navajo weaving and gift for storytelling made his annual talks at Sorrel Sky Gallery a cherished event. Jackson passed away after last year's market, having called that final Sunday talk the best of his life. In his memory and in his spirit, Antonia will offer two talks on the artistry, history, and meaning of Navajo weaving: Thursday, August 13, at 4 PM, and Sunday, August 16, at 1 PM. All are welcome at 125 W Palace Avenue, just steps from the Plaza, for an hour of insight into one of the Southwest's most enduring art forms and a heartfelt tribute to the man who shared it so generously.
