30th Annual Summer Thursday Jazz Nights It’s an evening of dynamic interplay and world-class musicianship with the John Rangel Quintet, featuring acclaimed Los Angeles saxophonist Rick Keller and celebrated trumpeter Robby Beasley. One of New Mexico’s most respected musicians, John Rangel has earned widespread recognition for his artistry as a pianist, composer, and bandleader. The recipient of more than 17 New Mexico Music Awards, he has written over 400 original compositions, and this powerhouse ensemble will premiere a collection of his newer works tonight before they are released on his forthcoming album. More than a concert, this program, as Rangel describes it, “is an invitation into music shaped by the spirit of our times—energetic, uplifting, and deeply reflective.” Rangel’s compositions explore love, community, wisdom, and resilience amid uncertainty, offering up music that inspires contemplation as much as celebration. Along with Rangel, Keller and Beasley, the group also features, Michael Burt on bass, and Rich Malloy on drums. Tickets also available at the door at 6:30 PM - All Ages
