Rug Hooking with Almost Anything, Including Wool

Learn the basics of traditional rug hooking with a bit of a twist. Not only will we use the usual wool fabric strips and yarn (more about that in class), but we’ll also try old t-shirts, yarn, ribbon, and anything else you might have that you can pull a loop with. We will: Discuss the history of rug hooking and where it is today, including its various forms; Learn how to prep our materials; Begin hooking a “mug rug,” a small table mat, or wall hanging; and Discuss the ways we can finish the piece when the hooking is done. No experience is necessary; just come prepared to play with all the colors and textures!
