We will focus on simplifying complex views into a few core shapes, playing with dramatic color contrasts, and layering textures to evoke a "sense of place" rather than a photographic likeness. This workshop is the perfect opportunity to discover the encaustic monotype process. The method is easy, fast, and highly engaging for artists of all skill levels. Day 1: Foundations & Techniques: Master essential monotype, equipment, tools, and safety protocols. Learn color stick applications and masking techniques. Explore different paper types and their unique properties. Day 2: Expression & Application: Dive into conceptual ”minimalist form of expression” using photos or imagined spaces for inspiration. Simplify natural forms and build surfaces. Use expressive mark-making and color manipulation to convey mood.
