The Consequences: High Desert Cosmic Americana Origin: Truth or Consequences, New Mexico Genre: High Desert Cosmic Americana / Outlaw Country / Roots Fusion Accolades: Voted Best Band in Sierra County, NM | Over 250 Live Performances There is a sound that could only come from the landscapes of the American Southwest—and The Consequences are bringing it to the national stage. Hailing from Truth or Consequences, New Mexico, this outfit has built a loyal following across the region one night at a time. Self-described as a "two-piece trio," the band delivers a massive, distinct wall of sound where Outlaw Country, bluegrass, jazz, hip-hop, and traditional bolero collide at highway speed, their live sets are deeply improvisational, ensuring that no two shows are ever the same. Meet the Band The band's distinctive synergy is driven by two seasoned musicians with deep national credits who met and began collaborating in the New Mexico high desert: Chris Gennari (Guitar, Banjo, Vocals) – After closing his business to drive cross-country in a van, Chris landed in New Mexico and formed the band within days. Studied with guitar legends Johnny Hiland and Redd Volkaert (Merle Haggard), Chris has opened for icons like Daryl Hall and Booker T. Jones, and composed banjo jingles for national advertising campaigns. He is the rare player who can make a Telecaster cry and a banjo swing in the same song. T. Xiques (6-String Bass, Foot Percussion) – A Berklee College of Music scholarship recipient mentored by jazz icon Jack DeJohnette, T. spent three years touring nationally with British blues-rock pioneers Savoy Brown. His resume includes stages and sessions with Garth Hudson (The Band), Kaki King, John Medeski, Bad Brains, Jewel, and Ari Up (The Slits). His original compositions have also been featured on television hits like Anthony Bourdain’s No Reservations . Latest Release & Touring The band’s debut single, "Can't See Me," is out now. Currently touring the Southwest and booking nationwide, The Consequences deliver a compelling live experience for Americana purists and roots-music fans alike. Come hear it live. Come easy.
