Cimarron River

The Cimarron River in northeastern New Mexico carries a Special Trout Water designation (Red chile) for the 1.4-mile reach from the east end of Tolby Campground downstream to the first US Highway 64 bridge. The reach supports rainbow trout and brown trout and is catch-and-release only; only artificial fly or lure with a single barbless hook is permitted. A valid New Mexico fishing license is required. Managed by the Colin Neblett Wildlife Management Area and the New Mexico Department of Game and Fish. Photography is permitted.
