San Juan River — Quality Waters (below Navajo Dam)
The San Juan River Quality Waters below Navajo Dam in San Juan County, northwestern New Mexico, is a renowned tailwater trout fishery fed by cold, clear flows year-round. Stocked with rainbow trout and brown trout, the Quality and Catch-and-Release reaches carry special tackle and bag-limit rules that vary by section. A boat ramp is available; non-motorized watercraft only. There is no site access fee, though a valid New Mexico fishing license is required. Managed by the New Mexico Department of Game and Fish.
