Cabezon Wilderness Study Area

Cabezon Wilderness Study Area in northern New Mexico features a prominent large volcanic plug — a steep-sided, symmetrical neck of volcanic rock rising above the surrounding landscape. Managed by the BLM Rio Puerco Field Office, the area is open for camping and hiking. Photography is permitted. Contact the BLM Rio Puerco Field Office for current access conditions.
