Canyons Wilderness Study Area

Wilderness Study Area located approximately 6 miles east of Grants in north-central New Mexico, managed by the BLM's Rio Puerco Field Office. The area consists of sagebrush flats and pinyon-covered sandstone hills bordering the Cebolla Wilderness and is currently under consideration for formal wilderness designation. The region is rich in prehistoric archaeological sites and petroglyphs.
