Hoverrocker Wilderness Study Area

Hoverrocker Wilderness Study Area is a 22-acre parcel in Hidalgo County, southwestern New Mexico, managed by the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) Las Cruces District Office. This small area represents the New Mexico portion of a formerly larger wilderness study area; the adjacent Arizona section was released from wilderness review in 1990. The site remains pending Congressional action on wilderness designation. Access is via cross-country hiking from adjacent U.S. Forest Service or BLM lands.
