Nearest Rail Runner station: Santa Fe Depot · 18 miThe Nambe Badlands Trail is a two-loop hiking route managed by the BLM's Taos Field Office, located 4.5 miles north of Nambe Pueblo Road on NM 503 in Rio Arriba County, north-central New Mexico. The ~5-mile trail traverses rolling terrain with several steep rocky pitches and delivers excellent views of colorfully eroded badlands. The route crosses natural contours and uneven dirt trails with rocky scrambling sections; narrow trail segments intersect several social trails, requiring route-finding attention. Two parking areas serve the trailhead (one larger, one holding 4-5 vehicles); no water or restrooms are available.
