Presilla Wilderness Study Area

The Presilla Wilderness Study Area is a mesa landscape with large arroyos, rugged limestone and sandstone hills, and scattered coppice dunes located approximately 10 miles east of Socorro in Socorro County, New Mexico. Managed by the BLM Socorro Field Office, this wilderness area features desert shrub vegetation and supports diverse wildlife including hawks, falcons, quail, mule deer, foxes, and reptiles. Access is via the Escondida exit (#152) from I-25, then north on NM 408 to Pueblito Road.
